Amity athlete Thomas Sirichantho adds New England title to standout tennis career
USTA Boys’ 18 & Under championship follows another All-State season for Woodbridge resident
Woodbridge resident and Amity Regional High School tennis player Thomas Sirichantho has added another accolade to an already distinguished career, capturing the Boys’ 18 & Under title at the 2026 USTA New England Junior Sectional Championships.
Sirichantho defeated Boston’s Jack Babka in the championship match on June 24 to earn the regional title. The championship tournament brought together 256 junior players from across New England competing in four age divisions.
Sirichantho, who will be a senior this fall at Amity Regional High School, is coming off another standout high school season. He was recently named to the 2026 GametimeCT All-State Boys Tennis First Team for the third consecutive year and earned All-Southern Connecticut Conference First Team honors after helping lead the Spartans to a second straight appearance in the SCC tournament championship match and a semifinal berth in the CIAC Class LL state tournament, according to GametimeCT.
His championship win also marks a notable family achievement. Last year, his sister Priscilla captured the Girls’ 18 & Under title at the same tournament, making the Sirichanthos back-to-back New England champions in their respective divisions.
Congratulations to Thomas on this outstanding accomplishment and for representing both Woodbridge and Amity Regional High School so well.
