10 Selden announces October lineup, featuring ‘The Art of the Draw Animation Film Festival’
All-ages arts, music and community venue has a full October schedule
Woodbridge’s all-ages arts, music and community venue at 10 Selden Street has a full October schedule of live music and other events, including a special Art of the Draw Animation Film Festival mid-month.

Sunday, Oct. 18, 1–4:30 p.m.
The Art of the Draw Animation Film Festival will bring 20 award-winning animated films to 10 Selden in a free afternoon program geared toward students in grades 6–12 as well as adult animation fans.
Presented by 10 Selden with support from the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, the program includes selections from the National Film Board of Canada and Acme Film’s Animation Show of Shows.
The first film program runs from 1 to 2:45 p.m., followed by an intermission featuring an acoustic artist from 2:45 to 3:15 p.m. A second group of films will be shown from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m.
Among the films scheduled are The Green Bird, One Small Step, The Danish Poet, The Man Who Planted Trees, The Log Driver’s Waltz, The Girl Who Hated Books, The Cat Came Back and George and Rosemary.
Admission is free. Donations are appreciated to help support free and accessible community programming — donations can be made through 10 Selden’s website.

- Friday, Oct. 2 — Nekropolous Goth Night, featuring DJ Purp, DJ Belfry Bat, vendors, displays and other oddities. $12; all ages; 7 p.m.–midnight.
- Saturday, Oct. 3 — Attic Souls, Gregory Frost & Faction, and A Pallet for the Shoal. $12; all ages; doors at 7 p.m.; show at 7:30 p.m.
- Friday, Oct. 9 — Mercy Whip and other hardcore bands to be announced. $12; all ages; doors at 6:30 p.m.; show at 7 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 10 — Sound Surge, featuring hip-hop, soul and R&B artists and more. $15; all ages; doors at 5:30 p.m.; show at 6 p.m.
- Friday, Oct. 16 — Live hardcore featuring Skott and additional performers to be announced. $12; all ages; doors at 6:30 p.m.; show at 7 p.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 18 — The Art of the Draw Animation Film Festival. Free admission; donations welcome; recommended for ages 12 and up; doors at 12:30 p.m.; program begins at 1 p.m.
- Friday, Oct. 23 — NLM presents: The Spot. Free; all ages; 6–9 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 24 — Deadlocked Productions & Lounge SevenZeroEight present an adults-only costume party featuring a live suspension expo, DJ Belfry Bat and live music from When the Deadbolt Breaks. $20; ages 18 and up; doors at 6 p.m.; show at 7 p.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 25 — Underground Experience presents Zinc and others to be announced. $15; all ages; doors at 6 p.m.; show at 7 p.m.
- Friday, Oct. 30 — Barbarian and others to be announced. $12; all ages; doors at 6:30 p.m.; show at 7 p.m.
